What the job involves
We start at the equipment and work outward. The blower compartment and return drop get inspected first, because that is where the heaviest buildup usually sits, then we connect a negative air machine to the trunk line and put the duct system under suction. Brushes and compressed air whips break debris loose run by run while the vacuum carries it out. Registers and grilles come off and get cleaned separately. We seal access points when we finish and check that airflow at each vent feels right before we pack up.
What we check while we are in there
Ductwork tells you a lot about a house. We look for disconnected flex runs in crawlspaces and attics, crushed sections behind finished walls, and old joints where the tape has given up and conditioned air is dumping into unconditioned space. We note moisture staining, rodent activity and insulation that has fallen off the outside of the trunk. Filter size and fit get checked too, since a gapped filter is often the reason dust got into the system in the first place. You get a plain description of what we found.
How we decide it is the right call
Cleaning helps when there is actual debris to remove. If your ducts are clean and you are still fighting dust, poor airflow or rooms that never reach temperature, the problem is usually leakage, undersized returns or a system issue, and cleaning will not change that. We will say so. Good reasons to clean include recent drywall or flooring work, visible buildup at the registers, a musty smell that follows the blower, or evidence that something got into the ductwork while the house sat empty.

How often do air ducts actually need cleaning?
There is no fixed schedule. Most homes go many years between cleanings. We look at what is in the ducts rather than the calendar, and we will tell you honestly if yours do not need the work yet.
Will duct cleaning fix a room that stays hot or cold?
Usually not. Uneven rooms are more often caused by leaking or disconnected ducts, weak returns or an equipment problem. We inspect for those while we are in the system and explain what we find.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Yes, someone should be there. We need access to every register, the return grilles and the equipment, and we will walk you through anything we discover in the ductwork before we finish.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That short conversation tells us whether you need a visit today or tomorrow morning.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and ducts, and the equipment itself. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the noise goes away.
- Step 3
You decide before we work
We explain what failed, what the repair involves, and what we would do if it were our own house. Nothing gets replaced until you say go. Then we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses and new onesWe are used to century-old homes with retrofitted ductwork and 1970s subdivisions with original returns. Tight crawl spaces, low basement headroom and odd attic runs are normal parts of the day for us, not surprises that stall the job.
- Built for the swingsHumid summers push AC systems hard and January freezes expose weak igniters and cracked flues. We repair for both extremes across the region, so the fix holds when the weather turns instead of failing the first hard week.
- Air conditioning and heating bothAir conditioner repair in July, heating repair in January, and the IAQ and airflow problems that hide in between. One crew that knows how your cooling and heating share the same blower and the same duct system.
- Plain talk, no pressureWe tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the honest answer. No scare tactics about your BTU load, no upsell scripts. You get the condition of the system and a clear next step.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
